1 And it came to pass,1961 when Rehoboam7346 had established3559 the kingdom,4438 and had strengthened2394 himself, he forsook5800 853 the law8451 of the LORD,3068 and all3605 Israel3478 with5973 him.

5 Then came935 Shemaiah8098 the prophet5030 to413 Rehoboam,7346 and to the princes8269 of Judah,3063 that834 were gathered together622 to413 Jerusalem3389 because of4480 6440 Shishak,7895 and said559 unto them, Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Ye859 have forsaken5800 me, and therefore have I589 also637 left5800 you in the hand3027 of Shishak.7895

6 Whereupon the princes8269 of Israel3478 and the king4428 humbled themselves;3665 and they said,559 The LORD3068 is righteous.6662

7 And when the LORD3068 saw7200 that3588 they humbled themselves,3665 the word1697 of the LORD3068 came1961 to413 Shemaiah,8098 saying,559 They have humbled themselves;3665 therefore I will not3808 destroy7843 them, but I will grant5414 them some4592 deliverance;6413 and my wrath2534 shall not3808 be poured out5413 upon Jerusalem3389 by the hand3027 of Shishak.7895

8 Nevertheless3588 they shall be1961 his servants;5650 that they may know3045 my service,5656 and the service5656 of the kingdoms4467 of the countries.776

8 однако же они будут слугами5650 его, чтобы знали,3045 каково служить5656 Мне и служить5656 царствам4467 земным.776

9 So Shishak7895 king4428 of Egypt4714 came up5927 against5921 Jerusalem,3389 and took away3947 853 the treasures214 of the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and the treasures214 of the king's4428 house;1004 he took3947 853 all:3605 he carried away3947 853 also the shields4043 of gold2091 which834 Solomon8010 had made.6213

9 И пришел5927 Сусаким,7895 царь4428 Египетский,4714 в Иерусалим3389 и взял3947 сокровища214 дома1004 Господня3068 и сокровища214 дома1004 царского;4428 все взял3947 он, взял3947 и щиты4043 золотые,2091 которые сделал6213 Соломон.8010

10 Instead of8478 which king4428 Rehoboam7346 made6213 shields4043 of brass,5178 and committed6485 them to5921 the hands3027 of the chief8269 of the guard,7323 that kept8104 the entrance6607 of the king's4428 house.1004

11 And when4480 1767 the king4428 entered into1961 935 the house1004 of the LORD,3068 the guard7323 came935 and fetched5375 them, and brought them again7725 into413 the guard7323 chamber.8372

12 And when he humbled himself,3665 the wrath639 of the LORD3068 turned7725 from4480 him, that he would not3808 destroy7843 him altogether:3617 and also1571 in Judah3063 things1697 went1961 well.2896

13 So king4428 Rehoboam7346 strengthened himself2388 in Jerusalem,3389 and reigned:4427 for3588 Rehoboam7346 was one259 and forty705 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign,4427 and he reigned4427 seventeen7651 6240 years8141 in Jerusalem,3389 the city5892 which834 the LORD3068 had chosen977 out of all4480 3605 the tribes7626 of Israel,3478 to put7760 853 his name8034 there.8033 And his mother's517 name8034 was Naamah5279 an Ammonitess.5984
